EDUC561

Here I'm talking about a very interesting and helpful course for any teacher. It is all about technology and how we use it in our classes to make the lesson more attractive for our students. I really enjoyed this course and I saw how technology is important in our teaching process. Many and many tools/ websites/applications we can use and teach with. It lets you think outside the box in another way it is more than paper and pen. which gives the child the feeling of learning with fun. All the teachers must take such courses, it gives a sense of creativity.

I hope to get the chance to work with my students with all the apps that I took in this course.

My Philosophy Of Education

I love teaching! For me, teaching is more than imparting knowledge. More specifically, I see my role as facilitator. I hope to build on students’ interest in learning for intrinsic reasons, and not just for the reward of good grades. I hope to advance their ability to ask good questions and seek out and analyze evidence, and to expose them to diverse ideas and opinions. To do this, I try to go beyond ‘the lecture’ by creating lessons with opportunities for fun, memorable, and active learning experiences that capitalize on different learning styles. For example, I use games, re-enactments, discussions, case studies, authentic activities, reflective writing, and a variety of technologies. Students have responded well to this approach,  in their feedback they write that they actually learn the material instead of just memorizing it and that I have made the class fun. Outside the classroom, I try to provide opportunities to apply what they have been learning in class to the real world
.

A Little About Me..

A little  about  myself...

I would like to invite you to this very interesting "Blog" about getting to know me. Please feel free to look around and learn more about me and my interests.

My name is  Aya Hasan Kinyar I was born and raised in Beirut. I lived there for almost seven years; then my family had to move to the South, exactly in Tyre. I am a person who is very dedicated, compassionate, organized These traits not only influenced my childhood, but they have also led me to where I am today.

My Degree

I completed my first degree in Accounting and I worked as an accountant for several years in several places, but I have always loved education and becoming a teacher. This is why I decided to start my second degree: English literature and continued my third and fourth, in Early Childhood Education, Teaching English as a Second Language especially physical education.

Being around kids especially during my volunteering work has allowed me to understand how much teaching was the best job for me. I am very enthusiastic about teaching children, and this profession will allow me to spend the rest of my life doing what I love and to be part of the making of the next generation. I also chose education because I had in mind that in the future I
want to be able to teach my kids the best way possible. I have always dreamt of being the best teacher in my kids' eyes, to stand out as their role model.

My Job

After working with NOVA Gym I started getting more and more interested in physical education. I am a very energetic person and I love to express my feelings with movement. Teaching children about leading a healthy lifestyle and including fitness activities to help them maintain fitness is now my current goal in life.

My goal is obtaining a job as a physical educator in a school in Tyre, Lebanon, and showing the importance of this education to the next generation.

My future plans are not concrete because I can't wait to see where my life takes me!

Bloom's Taxonomy- Objectives

 Objectives according to Bloom’s taxonomy

Pre reading stage:

APPLYING – Creating

Students will be able to identify the four seasons and design different events that happen in each.

During Reading stage:

·         Objective: At the end of the lesson students will be able to:

Remembering -Answer WH questions related to the text

Applying -Organize information gathered from the text

Evaluating  -Explain the vocabularies acquired

Post reading stage:

·        ObjectiveUNDERSTANDING  & ANALYZING

-Student will be able to understand what we mean about compare & contrast

-make exercise about it (The teacher gives each group a worksheet that contains compare and contrast diagram to compare between two seasons.)

Methods of Teaching

Using several methods are very important in teaching process, and this is my example about using methods:

-The teacher uses several methods of instruction throughout the class. She begins by stating the students’ objective of finding the main idea. She then has the students independently work on reading the same article, highlighting details they deem important along the way. Finally, the teacher dives into group work by having the students analyze the article by answering questions through playing Bingo. During Bingo, the teacher walks around to each group helping them with their work. After a group shouts “Striders!”, the teacher waits for the group she is with to finish, before heading to the front of the class to share and explain the answers with the entirety of the class.

Materials to Be Used While Applying The Method Stage:

My example of the Materials that can use while Applying The Method Stage:

The teacher uses several instructional aids and materials. Each student has a blue reading card to indicate whether they have finished reading, helping set the pace of the classroom. Each student also has their own copy of the article to complete their independent work. During Bingo, each group of students shares a single copy of questions and spiders to use as markers. The teacher also uses an overhead projector to show students the correct answer after each round of Bingo.

The materials play a big role in making the teaching process interesting and interacting, the learners always need something to touch even see to be involved. So the teachers must take care of preparing their materials and aids.

6 Stages of Teaching Cycle

Following the stages is very important, here you will see how I followed the

stages for my lesson (Subject/Verb agreement).

-Stage 1Determine students’ need:  recognized a student need when I decided to

1~Give students a picture and let them write freely.

2~Ask the students to give examples about subject/verb agreement.

3~Ask the students to give 3 complete sentences about any topic they want.

-Stage 2. Determine learning goals:

1~Students will be able to distinguish the write place of each punctuation mark.

2~students will be able to construct sentences with the appropriate subject/verb agreement.

3~students will be able to organize a well coherent essay.

-Stage 3. Design learning activities: decided how to lead students to achieve the

objective by designing these 3 actions ( activities)

1~Give students a paragraph with wrong subject/verb agreement and they should

 correct it.

2~Give the students 5 sentences, and they should provide each sentence with the correct

punctuation mark.

3~write a short paragraph about any topic they want.

-Stage 4. Prepare learning activities:

1~Give them a worksheet that contains the first question.

2~Write the second question on the board and they will all engage by getting up and

answer.

3~Go to nature and let the students write their paragraphs freely.

-Stage 5. Conduct the learning activities:

-First I will give them a listening test for 30 minutes; they have to listen to the paragraph

very carefully and then write all the subject/verb agreements mentioned. Then I will give

them 15 minutes more to write the (subject/verb) agreement that they wrote and put them

in sentences from their own.

-Then I will give them a big test that contain every single detail that they took in the

lesson and let them solve it in 50 minutes.

-Stage 6. Determine how well students have achieved the learning objectives:

After correcting and assessing students’ work, I discover the students’ weaknesses and

we worked on it by reviewed the lesson and did a lot of extra sheets about it. Then after

that they did the big test, I (teacher) conducting and assessing the majority of students

answers and all the questions are correct.

A Philosopher to Know..

Each educator has a specific approach works on it but Montessori worked hard and was

really special, she gave a big space for the students with special needs. She began

teaching them. She taught at a childcare center in San Lorenzo, an inner-city district of

Rome. When she taught these children, she recognized that they learned from the nature

and everything that surrounds them; they took all the knowledge by teaching themselves.

She didn’t refer to any other educator or any other recourse; she used her own scientific

observation skills & did a lot of reports to understand more about the children and

designed unrivaled learning aids(materials) to enhance the growth of the children's

learning abilities.

Montessori Approach in 21st Century

The Modern Montessori Kindergarten’s view is to furnish distinction in

KG education by making the advantages of the method accessible tosociety. Its objective is to build the child to have self-esteem, self-confidence and to be engaged in his/her community and depends on him/her self with a powerful picture by playing responsible role in protecting his/her environment.

Moreover to let thechildren feel free in their teaching zone/area, he/she can does  just what they want to not what the teacher wants. In other words, it's the student center. And the teacher role is to prepare the child for his/her big future.
